Referral Process and Move In Procedures
Under Aurora’s arrangement with the Air Force, the Air Force must approve and refer qualified applicants for housing in Aurora’s Private Sector Finance (PSF) Housing. The Military Housing Flight is responsible for qualifying all housing applicants and maintains housing waiting lists. You can contact the Military Housing Flight at 907-552-4340.
Referrals are requested from the Military Housing Flight when a notice of a projected move out is received at Aurora. Once the referral is received by Aurora, the applicant is notified of the projected housing offer. NOTE: If the unit is not accepted, the turn down is reported to the Military Housing Flight. Under applicable Housing Flight rules, after 2 turn downs, the applicant is removed from the housing waiting list. Once an applicant accepts an upcoming unit with Aurora, a staff member can assist the applicant with a proper move out notice for your off base rental.
Rental rates for privatized housing are based on the military member’s BAH rate. Rent must be paid through an allotment. (*Rental rates by rank)(*Allotment Form). The first month rent will be prorated by move in date and must be paid by check, money order, or credit card (*automated pay) to Aurora.
A move in date will be scheduled (*Move in Schedule) at Aurora. A staff member will meet you at the rental at the scheduled move in date and time to perform a joint move in inspection.
Move Out Procedures
A NOTICE OF INTENT TO VACATE (*Move out schedule) must be provided to the Military Housing Flight and Aurora Military Housing 60 days prior to your desired move out. At that time a Pre-Final Maintenance Inspection and a Final Inspection will be scheduled by Aurora. The Pre-Final Maintenance Inspection will be conducted in your home within 48 hours of giving notice. Your Pre-Final Briefing must be scheduled at least 10 days prior to your Final Inspection date (further out is preferred). NOTE: You can schedule a Pre-Final Maintenance Inspection and a Final Inspection prior to the receipt of PCS, Retirement, or Separation orders. These inspections can be scheduled by telephone at 907 753 1051, fax # 907 753 1095 or by e mail at aurora@jlproperties.alaska.com.
At the time you schedule your Pre-Final Inspection, it is imperative you provide a telephone number for a projected referral to contact you to schedule a date to view the unit.
Your allotment will be stopped your last full month of occupancy. You must pay the prorated final months rent prior to clearance from Aurora Military Housing. As with all military housing, a passing final move out inspection is required to be released from Aurora Military Housing.
30 Day Move Out Notice - This form must be requested and completed at the Aurora Military Housing Office.
