In addition to sharing some changes to the trash and recycling pickup schedule during the weeks of Christmas and New Years, we are offering designated ‘extra trash pickup days’, a cardboard pickup date, as well as Christmas tree disposal services.
Christmas Trash and Recycling Pickup Modification

- 23 December (Monday) Recycling is scheduled for normal pick up
- 25 December (Wednesday) JBER-R Trash pickup is moved to 26 December (Thursday)
- 27 December (Friday) JBER-E Trash pickup is moved to 28 December (Saturday)
New Years Trash and Recycling Pickup Modification

- 1 January (Wednesday) JBER-R Trash pickup is moved to 2 January (Thursday)
- 3 January (Friday) JBER-E Trash pickup is moved to 4 January (Saturday)
Extra Trash Pickup Days
- 18 December (JBER-R) and 20 December (JBER-E) will be Extra Trash Pickup Days
- 8 January (JBER-R) and 10 January (JBER-E) will be Extra Trash Pickup Days
Leave up to two (2) extra bags by your roll cart and have them picked up in addition to your normal trash bin on the days notated above.
Items must be:
- Bagged and sealed
- Not considered hazardous waste
- Placed by the roll cart on the specified date prior to 6 AM
Extra Cardboard Disposal
- 6 January (JBER-R) and (JBER-E) will be Extra Recycling Day
Please ensure all extra cardboard that is not placed in the roll cart is broken down and placed by curb and is no more than 1ft in height.
Christmas Tree Disposal Service
Christmas Tree dumpsters will be located at 6350 Arctic Warrior Drive and 338 Hoonah Avenue on the dates below
- Noon on 30 December 2024 to noon on 3 January 2025
- Noon on 6 January 2025 to noon on 10 January 2025
Please make sure all ornaments and lights are completely removed from the trees before bidding farewell to your tree.
