As a follow-up to our earlier blog, we are continuing to stay in close contact with installation leadership and JBER’s civil engineers as efforts remain underway to address the power outage impacting several neighborhoods including Cherry Hill, Denver, Houston, and Denali.

Our teams are actively monitoring conditions and have been assured the Installation is mobilizing the necessary resources to safely restore power.

Current conditions are challenging due to high winds, which can unfortunately slow restoration efforts. While no official restoration timeline has been confirmed yet, teams are actively assessing conditions and performing repairs.

Important Safety & Preparedness Tips

  • Keep all windows and exterior doors closed to help retain heat inside your home.
  • If your home is heated by a boiler, keep your thermostat set on to allow water to continue to circulate to help prevent pipes from freezing.
  • Run a very thin stream of water (about the width of a pencil) from a downstairs faucet to help keep water moving and reduce the chance of frozen pipes.
  • Do not use grills, propane heaters, gas ranges, vehicles (even with the garage door open), or generators indoors, in garages or near windows; this can lead to dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.

Updates will be provided on the original blog post.
