With the ongoing government shutdown, our offices and services continue to operate, ensuring residents experience as little disruption as possible.
Operational Status
Our offices and Self Help Center remains open. Maintenance service will continue. Applicants who apply directly with us will still be able to lease homes and residents will still be able to depart housing. Those with active applications are encouraged to contact our office directly.
Future Residents
The Military Housing Office (MHO) is now partially operational. If the shutdown has in any way delayed your ability to complete your application and you are within 30 days of needing a home; we are here to assist. Please contact us at AMHLeasingTeam@jlproperties.com or swing by our office at 6350 Arctic Warrior Drive (9-5, M-F) to move the process forward.
Active Duty: Rent Payment
Active-Duty residents pay rent with the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) via allotment. Should BAH payments be delayed, we expect that any back payments will be processed automatically through the allotment system once the government reopens. We will share any additional guidance/updates once the government reopens.
Rest assured that at no time will we charge a late fee if BAH is delayed due to the shutdown, nor will you be required to make payments with anything other than BAH; no action is required from you at this time regarding October 2025 rent.
Other Eligible Residents: Rent Payment
Some JBER residents are not Active-Duty and do not receive BAH, including Military retirees, DoD Contractors, Civil Service Employees, and Traditional Guard and Reserve members. We understand that the shutdown may impact pay for some of these residents, which could make rent payment difficult.
If you anticipate challenges paying rent on time, please contact our accounting team directly so we can notate your account and work with you directly. You can call (907) 753-1023 (Option 5) during business hours or email aurora@jlproperties.com to be directed to an accounting team member.
It is our intent to ensure the government shutdown has a minimal impact on our current and future residents. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office directly.
