We’re excited to announce the launch of our Halloween Decor Contest! Get ready to showcase your spookiest, most creative decorations and turn your home into a haunted masterpiece. Whether you’re going for spooky, fun, or somewhere in between, this is your chance to win some fantastic prizes and show off your Halloween spirit. We can’t wait to see what you come up with—let the decorating begin!
Entering the Contest
All entries are due by 29 October 2024 at 12 PM.
- Snap at least one photo of an exterior display.
- Upload your photos to our website (on our Contact Page).
- We recommend blurring out personal items or personal information in your photos
- Select the category “Halloween Decor Contest”
- Our judges will review and pick 6 finalists.
- We’ll post photos of the finalists in a blog post and ask for your vote.
- Winners will be announced in early November.
Criteria
Groups
Pending the number of entries we receive; participants may be broken down by different groups (such as by rank or location on the installation) and awarded prizes in those categories.
Rounds
Judging will take place in two rounds. The first round will narrow down the finalists. Judges will be selected by AMH and will be blind to personal information, including your name, address, and Branch of Service, and will provide points for the following items:
- Creativity
- Halloween Spirit
- Family-Friendly Designs
- Effort and Detail
The second round will include the homes selected by the judges. These homes will be voted on by the general public via SurveyMonkey. All photos of each home will be available to help the community decide a winner.
Disqualification
All displays should be in good spirit and comply with JBER/Aurora rules. Please be considerate of your neighbors and their enjoyment of their homes.
Displays that have real pumpkins will be disqualified.
Displays that have gruesome, violent, or sexually explicit scenes will be disqualified.
Prizes
Grand Prize: $300 (2 Prizes)
Finalist: $200 (4 Prizes)
Entrant: $100 (8 Prizes)
Please be mindful of your neighbors, and consider the amount of lights and noise-producing decorations you use.
