Ongoing Maintenance

Water Quality Oversight

Water quality is heavily regulated both on the federal (Environmental Protection Agency) and state level (Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation). These regulations ensure water utility providers make safety a top priority.

COVID-19 and Water Quality

This year’s report also addresses concerns about COVID-19, highlighting findings from the CDC stating the “presence of the COVID-19 virus has not been detected in drinking-water supplies and based on current evidence the risk to water supplies is low.”
