Our holiday lights contest returns once again for the 2020 holiday season. With the challenges our community faces with the ongoing pandemic, lighting up our neighborhoods and sharing some holiday spirit with our neighbors is more important than ever.

We will accept nominations from 2 December to 20 December. Recognize your own exceptional holiday spirit by submitting a nomination online.

Criteria and Prizes
In the past, homes were only judged on light displays, however, this year we are putting finalists to a public vote, so festive displays and giant reindeer are fair game. Our team will select and photograph 10 homes of finalists. These homes will then be voted on by the community during the week of 23 December (Edit: Changed to 30 December).

Be safe, Be Savvy!
Whether you’re hanging up lights outside or setting up a Christmas tree inside, the holidays pose a number of risks. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has some great tips for keeping it safe this holiday season.
Additionally, many newer lights now have LED or low wattage options. You can conserve energy during the day by using plugs with photocells, timers, or smart plugs.
