Reminder: Vehicle and Parking Policies for a Smooth Winter Season

As we enter the winter months, it’s a good time to remind everyone about our vehicle and parking policies. Following these guidelines helps keep the community safe and ensures roads are accessible and free of obstructions. Here are some key points to keep in mind:

1. Parking Spaces

Your garage and driveway are reserved parking areas. We encourage you to use your garage whenever possible. Please remember that parking should never block fire hydrants, driveways, mailboxes, or dumpsters.

2. No Parking Zones

Vehicles cannot park on sidewalks, patios, landscaped areas, or within 15 feet of crosswalks or fire hydrants. Parking on the “no parking” side of the street is also prohibited. This ensures that emergency vehicles have access when needed.

3. RVs, Campers, and Utility Trailers

If you own an RV, camper, or trailer, please remember that these vehicles cannot be stored within housing areas. They must be stored in designated areas. Contact JBER Outdoor Recreation for storage options.

4. Street Parking and Snow Removal

During snow removal, parking on the street can create hazards and block plows. AMH provides notice via our blog prior to snow events commencing to remind you to move vehicles to driveways or garages until snow removal is completed.

5. Abandoned or Non-Operational Vehicles

Any vehicles that are non-operational or abandoned, including those with expired licenses or awaiting parts, cannot be stored in housing areas. These vehicles may be towed if left unattended for over 48 hours.

Report any abandoned or improperly parked vehicles to AMH and Security Forces.

For more detailed information, please refer to Section 7 in the Tenant Handbook.

By adhering to these policies, we can keep our community safe and accessible for everyone.
