5.1 REFUSE AND RECYCLING
Tenants are required to promptly and properly dispose of all refuse in accordance with the subsections below. All housing units are provided a refuse and recycling roll cart.

5.2 RECYCLING
Tenants are highly encouraged to take advantage of the AMH Recycling Program. Tenants are responsible for lost or damaged recycle roll carts. Recycle roll carts are to be kept inside the garage of the unit except when placed at curb for pick up. When placed at curb for pickup, roll cart lids must be completely closed, and the roll cart must not be within 3 feet of other items, such as cars or other tipsters. Do not place roll carts at curb before the day of pickup, and remove by 1900 on day of pickup.
5.3 REFUSE COLLECTION
You are required to store refuse roll carts inside the unit garage except when placed at curb for pick up. When placed at curb for pickup, roll cart lids must be completely closed, and the roll cart must not be within 3 feet of other items, such as cars or other roll carts. Do not place roll carts at curb prior to the day of pickup, and be sure to return the roll cart to the garage by 1900 on day of pickup. Tenants are responsible for lost or damaged garbage roll carts.
5.3.1 DUMPSTERS AMH or JBER dumpsters, unless otherwise labeled or advertised are not to be used for resident household waste or hazardous waste disposal.
5.3.2 BULK/LARGE ITEM DISPOSAL Large items, such as mattresses and furniture, may not be disposed of in or near a residential or commercial JBER dumpster. These items should be disposed at the local landfill. Tenants that violate this policy are subject to notification and ticketing by Conservation Law Enforcement Officials and AMH. Fines or fees may be charged to the Tenant for the improper disposal of refuse.
5.3.3 ANIMAL DISPOSAL Contact the JBER Veterinarian Office at 907-384-2865 or the Anchorage Regional Landfill at 907-343-6262 for proper disposal instructions for animals. Deceased pets may not be disposed of in dumpsters or buried in the yard.
